The area from Kunene River Lodge to Epupa Falls is one of the last great wilderness areas in Africa: a wild and beautiful home to the Himba people. The following is just one example of our tailor-made river expeditions - real adventures into another world where you will truly experience the peace, solitude and beauty of this stunning landscape. We use 8-person rafts with experienced guides and full support vehicle back-up. All camping equipment and meals are provided. You will paddle between 20 and 30km each day.

Day 1: Arrive Kunene River Lodge. Wind down and enjoy a relaxing sundowner and dinner on the deck overlooking the Kunene river. Bed down in a beautiful riverine campsite or enjoy the luxury of one of our en-suite chalets for a modest surcharge** (subject to availability).

Day 2: Ride the exhilarating Grade 2 to 4 rapids of the spectacular Ondorusu Gorge then follow the Kunene to the bush camp prepared by experienced staff. Dinner served under the stars.

Day 3: Continue down the river to Enyandi passing traditional Himba kraals. Overnight at Enyandi under the ancient fig tree where your camp and dinner will be waiting for you.

Day 4: Start the day by running the rapids at Enyandi, then on to Steekboom for another relaxing evening camped by this beautiful stretch of the Kunene river. The night sounds of the Kunene add to your enjoyment during dinner and later lull you to sleep.

Day 5: Calm water from Steekboom followed by some exciting rapids before arriving at the spectacular Epupa Falls. Camp in the well kept community campsite. Time to view the breathtaking Falls from several different view points. Dine to the accompaniment of the adjacent cascades.

Day 6: Breakfast and road transfer back to Kunene River Lodge (approximately 3-4 hours).
